Brown fused alumina FeSi is a reusable blasting media
with angular particles, which also has an iron content,
although
this iron content is completely bonded with silicon. It
is brittle and less resistant than brown fused alumina.
Because
of the iron content, this blasting media should not be
used on stainless steel or non-ferrous metals. Due to
the relatively
low purchase cost, it is ideal for outside use or in
applications with continual blasting media loss. Brown
fused alumina
FeSi provides an alternative to normal metallic blasting
media.
Blasting systems:
-Injection blast cabinets
-Pressure blast systems
Applications:
-Blast-cleaning
-Rust removal
-Roughening
-Paint-stripping
